Data Migration Consultant

The role of the Data Migration Consultant is to provide data migration support to clients during system implementations. Data extraction, data cleanup, and migration of legacy data will be performed. In addition the role may include go-live support for data migration efforts and the ability to execute and monitor the conversion processes. To be successful, the ability to work closely and foster strong client relationships is a must.

Position Requirements:

  1. Work closely with client resources to determine overall data migration architecture.
  2. Develop data migration programs and execution scripts.
  3. Develop data migration programs and execution scripts.
  4. Support the client in designing and developing control reports.
  5. Support in maintaining and building data migration IT assets.
  6. Highly motivated and self directed.

Education and/or Experience:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science or other technical degree with programming experience.
  2. Technical understanding of relational databases. Preferably MS SQL Server and/or Oracle.
  3. Knowledge of structured query language a must.
  4. Working knowledge of Unix and Windows operating systems.
  5. Knowledge of the JAVA programming language with preferred experience in development with JAVA. C# knowledge and experience a plus.
  6. Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Suite.
  7. Knowledge of basic scripting including UNIX and DOS is desired.
  8. Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to conduct research into a wide range of computing issues.
  9. Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment and willingness to present ideas in a team setting.
  10. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  11. Good written and verbal communication skills.
